Very good question. A lot of times the people who support abortion are the same people outside of prisons protesting against a murderer's execution. It makes no sense.

Ive never aborted a baby ,nor am I wringing my hands in horror about saddam ,in fact 99% of the world is rejoicing.

I certainly did not wring my hands. I would appreciate a pro abortionist who can show that there is soul life before birth. If that can be shown, more people would be anti-abortion.
Sadly, until then it is only a quasi-religious, emotionally charged debate.
Note: I would like to see a reason to stop abortion with a good, well defined case. At this point, I tend toward neutrality until more information can be had.

P.S. on edit: Young one has a good point, and I must admit I am more concerned that unwanted children will, if they survive, grow up damaged, unloved, and ill prepared to live in this rather messed up world.

In a way i agree with you, but Osama had nothing to do with Iraq, he is a terrorist with training from the american army. Yes he killed innocent people but for the rest of you reading this didnt George Bush's strike on nigeria kill many innocent people this week? what about the hundreds of innocent people that are being killed in Iraq? children ,women elderly people? all by the american army. The celebrations that supposedly took place when he was captured were fixed by offer of food and money to civilians, the celebrations after he was hanged were also fixed, take a look back 7 years Iraq was in a better position under Saddams rule. He still has many followers in Iraq and as an insult to them he was hanged on a special islamic day (like shooting george bush on Xmas day) It all goes down to construction contracts for american firms and the control of oil supplies. It was not a fair Islamic trial, the whole trial was controllled by the americans in the background, when it comes to these things USA and UK may say they are allies but when it comes to the crunch UK has no say but just follows USA like a little puppy dog

Personally, as my life stands now, I could never have an abortion nor do I support the death penalty. However, I have never been placed in a situation where I would have to consider abortion. Some of the situations that I have known girls to face who have had abortions have been horrendous - the kind of situations you wouldn't wish on the devil himself. There are other situations in which I think it would be selfish (as a parent) to bring a child into the world for the sake of one's own conscience or religious standing, where the child will face a painful and cruel, young death.

Very few people the number is so small anymore with the morning after pill. So this poor baby thing has been done to death. What is worse is these crack babies born to dope addicts who are born retarded and deformed and suffer all their life in horrible pain. Pass a law that these women be sterilized.
Now as to anyone caring that Saddam Hussein is hung is ridiculous. Everyone has been cheering in the streets.
You ought to get out more.

Because bringing a child into a life of poverty and suffering is worse than death.
