My goodness, that happens to me every day in the winter! I am so happy to know there are others out there who go through the same! O, humanity!
I guess I should really learn to knit first before cutting the yarn. Those dang toasters are so heavy, but I have found a solution. Keeping them plugged in to a jack inside of a camping backpack makes the hands disappear! They get black and achy before they fall off but no big deal, really. Without hands I no longer have to worry so much! I have found this method doesn't work quite as well on hatless heads but, a few holes later, I am still attempting to perfect the usage.

It happened to my friend yesterday! She made these really cute ones and then her lil' sister took them right off her hand!!!
