I love to sing and I would like to set up a way to record my own vocals. I have amps and a good dynamic microphone. I only have a cassette player to record the vocals and the quality is not good. Is there any way to do this without using my home computer? Any suggestions for a newbie that would be easy?

Sure! Go get yourself a four track recorder to just start out. Don't bother with digital ones for now, the ones that use a standard cassette tape are just fine for you. They've come way down over the years and can still be found in music stores for well under 99 bucks. Most of them will have a small mixer built in, and other inputs for combining music that you can sing over.

I agree with the 4 track thing. You can record your accompaniment and harmonize with yourself. This is the best way to go.
Your tracks can then be played back through your amps, so you could even perform live at parties.
