Thois is not a bad thing or any indication that something is worng with you or your period. When lying down the blood from your uterus pools in the vaginal vault. When you stand up it gushes out. If this happens a lot you might want to consult with a gynecologist who perhaps would consider putting you on a hormone that would lessen the flow of your period. Don't worry...you're OK>

that's perfectly normal, no worries. the reason that the blood "gushes" is because you put pressure on that area when you use your abdominal muscles to sit up. and the blood dripping into the toilet is also normal!
if it bothers you, you can try using tampons. when you use those, you can't feel the blood leaking out of your vagina... i find them to be much more comfortable than pads!

Well it happens to us all I believe because I'm enduring that right now. But I figure that it won't be in the pad later so don't worry about it. I hate when it happens but at least that means you don't have to sit with al lot of blood and be uncomfortable.

This is very normal. The vigina can and will collect blood during menses.
When to be concerned: If bleeding exceeds more then one maxi pad in a hours time. If you are bleeding more then that. Then seek medical attention.

for me it is when i have a heavy month. but i dont know if im normal or not. i tend to sleep and wind up staining the sheets sometimed because i move to much and wear an over night pad. never thought anything of it besides a heavy period.

Try this sometime to figure it out:

Take a glass of water. Go into the bathroom. Hold it over the tub, on its side. Then hold the glass upside down. Which has more water coming out? It's the same thing with your blood.

Dont worry...it happens to me also. Usually I look at it like "Hey less blood im going to have to deal with later." Dont worry...it happens.
