I mean seriously. All it talks about is guys getting high having sex with fake *** prostitutes.Rap doesn't even sound good. Rap from the 90's was good. But now it's just gone too far. It really sucks nowadays. Don't you agree? Feel free to post your opinion(s).

People like rap music because it can sound good. Not all rap music is about 'having sex with fake *** prostitutes'. You obviously haven't listened to a wide variety of rap music. When rap music first came about it was very different. It's true, rap music these days is generally pretty stupid and boring. Rappers nowadays just seem to go on about how rich and bling-bling they are (while also, for some reason, still pretending to be gangsters who live a hard life in the ghetto). People who like this stuff usually like it more for the glamorous image than because it sounds any good, or means anything interesting.

This question has got to be the most unoriginal, and the biggest waste of time. Why don't you just type in rap music and see the millions of questions already posted on this subject matter. Get a clue, there is a huge market for rap music, those guys are making hella money, if it's not your preferred genre...then don't listen to it. Tip...stop asking stupid questions....or better yet stop asking questions about things you already know the answer to. Go read a book or something.

I mostly listen to old school rap, but i still like eminem, the game and 50 cent. I do think that rap has really gone down hill as most music has, but i still like rap

not all rap is bad, the crap you are talking about is the shitty MAINSTREAM rap, the real good rap/hip hop is the under ground stuff, the unfamous rappers, the ones you have never heard of, underground rappers, they dont rap about girls, jewlery or cars, that rap about better things.
i bet if you download some music by talib kweli, mos def, the roots, common, timbaland, de la soul. you will enjoy it.
also cheack out the new Nas CD, Hip Hop is Dead, you will probally like that.

I try to be open minded, but in general rap isn't my favorite. I really like being able to hear the lyrics, so when a rap song has good lyrics, I usually like it. Heavy metal and rap aren't my favorite, but I don't like to make generalizations.

I don't like any rap, but I believe people like it, most generally, because everyone has different tastes. I'm sure there are many things you love that other people think is stupid. And why do you like it? Personal preference.

not all rap is about that... i personally don't listen to rap all the time.. i listen to christian rock and just regular rock.. but there is some christian rap/reg. rap that is good.. i avoid all of the cuss words and stuff like that.. which is hard to do!! but *some* rap has a good beat to it and people just want to move!!

mainstream rap is all about sex and bling and all that materialistic stuff....but when it gets down to the real underground rap and hiphop, now THATS real good music right there. SO yea, i agree with you from the "mainstream" rap. But old school and undergroud are really good.

N.W.A. killed Rap music, before Rap was about rhyming and scratching, once N.W.A. came out in 1988 rap was never the same.
