There are many kinds of love. Think back to your earliest memories of you parents. Did you feel love for them? Do you love your siblings? Your grandparents? You have the capacity and understanding of love from a very early age.

Want to really confuse an adult? Ask them what love is and exactly how they know they are in love. Most can come up with something, but never will their be an exact description.

Love is an emotion controlled by hormones and phernomes. The teenage years are a time when hormones a pushing your body too it's limit. Your body gets the signals for love a lot during the teen years. It does not mean they are not the real thing. You are in love. But it will probably last a short time, then you (or your partner) will be in love with someone else.

The phernomes and bonding with parents, siblings, etc is a longer more enduring love. It is based less on hormones and more on phernomes and thel long lasting bonding process of mutual care.

This enduring love is what you want to develop when your hormones and phernomes create romantic love. The teen years are like a practice time to find the right person to build the enduring love on.

I think you can love at 14, but you don't usually have the judgment, and certainly not the years of experience to tell when it could go horribly wrong. You need to learn how to "read" people, their character, their level of commitment, etc. That can only come with age. Even THEN, people in their 30's and beyond often make awful mistakes in love!

The main thing is that you still have a lot of growing up to do and other things to learn/experience. Sure, you can love as well as hate and everything in between; just don't take it TOO seriously! Even if, by some WILD chance, some person is "the right one", the odds of it working at your age are almost impossible! Waiting is NOT a bad thing, much as it may seem so.

Romeo and Juliet didn't wait...and look what happened to THEM!

Yes 2 many girls my age think that they are in love with theyre boyfriends and that things are going 2 work out and that they will actually end up getting married 1 day. In my opinion a 14 yr old is much 2 young 2 know what luv is and thats why so many teenagers get pregnant and do you think theyre boyfriends will stick around then. I dont think so. Of course its not impossible to find love when your young. (my aunt met her husband when she was 6) Its just very unlikely. The same with h8 a child would say that they h8 theyre parents but they don't really.

I have no doubt that you think you know what love is. The problem is most "kids" think that THE EXPRESSION of love is the same thing as Love. Actually, alot of people, not just kids, think that. There will be times when you cannot express yourself by sex, nor will he. Will you still think you are in love then? When you become mature enough to realize and deal with your emotions, then you can expect love in return. Until then, keep it to yourself because you will only get yourself hurt. Or worse. Pregnant.

Child ,let me tell ya what! My first love(and girlfriend was my mother) I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world! My second love showed up when I was 6 yrs old (actually 2nd,3rd,and 4th) so love can happen at any age and it hurts so good!! Stomach hurts, can't sleep, can't eat, can't think about anything but them, right? In your lifetime you will have many loves in many different ways. The love I felt for my daughter was like no other, and grandkids, well I introduce myself to their friends as their Bodyguard

i dont think that love has an age limit but u cant like just say o i'm in love. it takes time 2 figure out if ur in love w/ somebody or not. u'll kno when u'r in love or not let it come 2 u not cant serach 4 it bcuz then u probably wont find it. if you know that you are in love then people cant tell you that you arent you will just know it!

I think you said it yourself. Loving people or hating people has no age limit. But if your 14 and talking about a bf, then yes, you still have a lot to learn.

i'm kind of both ways with this one... you can love at any age, but the more you "love", the more you learn.... basically... you learn more with each relationship your in, and if you fall in "love" with your first bf, then your so naive to love, and have never experienced anything with anything else, so how could you possibly know he is the one for you.... i was in "love" last year, at 15... i got my heart broken, and found out he was an asshole... but i dont regret a thing..... never regret the things that once made you smile.
you learn from each heartbreak.

No, children can know what love is sometimes better than adults. When a child says that they love someone, you know that it's not because that other person has money or good looks, it's true love from the heart. You don't have an age for love, everyone's heart will fall for someone else at different times when their heart decides it is ready. Everyone will laugh at me, but when I first saw him, I was 12. It probably did start off as a simple school girl's crush, but I promise you that those feelings were different than anything else, and I know it was more than a crush back then. By the time I was 15, I knew I was in love with him and I loved him all throughout high school. Now I'm not 15 and we aren't together anymore and he most likely doesn't even care about me, but I still love him ;-(. He was my first love, ever since I saw him when I was a twelve year old girl.
