It's a bit vague but I'll give you what I can recall.
It starts of with a prince and princess getting married. Part of the marriage ceremony involves the princess taking some fire into her hand and handing it to the prince, but before she can complete this she is kidnapped and almost everyone in the castle slaughtered. I belive the person behind this was called the beast.
Anyway the prince sets out on a quest to save her and goes to this mountain to get a strange device, which he uses later to win.
Anyway along the way he meets a person who can transform into animals, he also meets up with a wizard (who dies later) and a cyclops (they made a deal with the beast to give up one eye to predict the future, but were tricked in that they can only predict the moment of their death.)
They also meet a lady who somehow has a killer spider but is actually a good guy. The beast also tries and seduce the princess by telling her he can take on any form, and turning into the prince.

Krull is the name of the movie, great movie I just got through watching it two weeks ago. They used their fire to defeat the beast and they did get together at the end.

The planet Krull has been invaded by the evil monster The Beast and his army The Slayers, two rival kingdoms have formed a alliance against The Beast and The Slayers, as Prince Colwyn, the son of King Turlord marries Princess Lyssa, daughter of King Eirig, where Prince Colwyn and Princess Lyssa's marriage will unite the two kingdoms and both Colwyn and Lyssa will rule the lands of Krull. But during the wedding, The Slayers attack and Lyssa is kidnapped. Setting out to rescue Lyssa, Colwyn joined by a fellowship companions: the Seer Ynyr, a band of escaped convicts led by Torquil, Rell, a one-eyed giant, Ergo, a cowardly magician, Emerald, a blind Seer and a young boy named Titch set off in search of The Black Fortress where Lyssa is being held captive, where The Beast intends to marry Lyssa in it's evil goal to rule Krull along with many other worlds. Armed with a powerful weapon "The Glave" a disc with five blades, Colwyn and his companions set off in search of The Black Fortress which changes location every sunrise, where Colwyn vows to rescue Lyssa and defeat The Beast and The Slayers.
