It's a pointless question now.

You'll get a load of people saying he deserved it, because they don't have a clue that his murderous campaigns were performed in collusion with America, using US weapons, US intelligence & US funding.

Since 2003, Bush has used chemical weapons; torture, murder and killed more than twice as many Iraqi civilians than Saddam did in over 20 years.

People that have no idea about history and no human decency can celebrate yet another death from US actions. But I mourn the 6 American soldiers killed earlier today that nobody mentions, because selfish people have no respect for other life.

Saddam died a scared frightened old man.He was a tyrant and a very evil person but no-one deserves too die has publicy has he did.unfortunately that is the way things work in his home county.it would of not been the way I would of dealt with saddam but i'm not the goverement I would of made him spend the rest of his life in prision..

He may of been a bad guy but in the end he did die with has much dignity as he could of died with..they could of shot him or worse in the end the punishment did fit the crime and he is now gone...

but truthfully i think the world will never really be ride of people like saddam there will always be somone out there who will take off where he left off and that is a scary thought.

they (the worlds media) made a marta out of saddam i thinkthat was the wrong thing too do.but hopefully oneday we can all live in peace without people like saddam and his followers terrorisiing the world..

we need peace not war time will tell.

How can we call ourselves a civilised society by allowing a man who was located by our (British) Special Forces to be executed?

The reason our troops never arrested him was political! If our troops had arrested Saddam, British law would not allow us to hand him over to th US or Iraqi's for excution.

I'm afraid our Prime Ministers hands are just as dirty as Bush Jr.

And if Saddam had a fair trial, why hasn't some of the Senior Policitians in the US been arrested and deported to Iraqi for trial? They helped Saddam get into power, they supplied him with the education and weaponary. Isn't that conspiring to cause mass genocide? I know the US gave Saddam the equipment to use against Iran, but isn't that just as bad?

My personal opinion is, what they have done is wrong. Saddam should of rotted in a prison! But so should "the powers that be" that gave him the ability to do what he did and also "the powers that be" that turned a blind eye.

Mr Hussein got what he deserved. Those who don't agree with the way he was executed and who is against the death sentence has not had a family member killed, murdered and humiliated by a killer , yet. They will soon change their minds should it happen to them. But due to the way they think more and more people are getting killed, raped and abused every single minute of the day. Just until it happens to them. I am not a bitter person, but i believe in an eye for an eye.

How does the song go "I shot the sheriff but I didn't shoot the deputy"
That's what has been done to Saddam a comparatively lesser crime of ordering the deaths of 148 people try him and hang him as quickly as possible .
Why?
In case the Kurdish people want justice for the many hundreds of entire families wiped out by poison gas.The ex president of Iraq would have to call Dick Chaney and Donald Rumsfeld as witnesses for his defence when the question is asked how did you come to have these weapons in your possession?
No one apart from his family would shed any tears ,he was a mad dog but he was our mad dog given the task of keeping the ayatollahs out of Saudi Arabia and this he did by fair means and foul for many years until his Kuwait adventure cost George senior his second term then Saddam had to go (by fair means or foul).
Remember the other saddams our friends in far away countries torturing and killing in our name to keep the fuel for the home fires flowing on these cold winter nights, thank god its them instead of you to quote another song.

Lets face the truth the invasion of Iraq is a illegal war. Whatever Saddam did in the past was with full approval of the American CIA and British Mi6 approval its them that supplied the weapons dont forget. It has since been prooved Saddam had NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.When this madman puppet of the west went to war with Iran it was with full approval of the Americans and British we supplied this crazy man with his weapons to go to war with Iran because the Shah of Iran was deposed and the iotollah was brought back into power and Islamic law was enforced which the west did not like.
Where will it end the Americans are on the edge of starting world war III. HOW MANY MORE COUNTRIES ARE THE CRAZY AMERICANS GOING TO INVADE IN THE NAME OF TERROR, IRAQ WAS NOT A THREAT TO THE WEST. WHO ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS AMERICA IS THE REAL TERRORIST.

Well.... Saddam was a mass murderer .. he killed so many of his own citizens. he ordered troops to demolish small towns that he didnt like. However i am against his death sentence .. for few reasons .. 1) teh problem will not be solved
2) USA will still be occupying iraq even afer his death
3) Iraq for sure will undergo a civil war that will destruct what is left in there. Saddam should have been sentensed in a political prison. where all the political activists are kept. No one has teh right to determine when will that person's life end. nor has teh right to finish it. It is murder itself ... and we all know we cant fight fire with fire. Why didnt Bush get hanged? Well he is still playing his game... who knows maybe he will when he game is over... You know that few presedents were assasinated in teh past right? we really dont kwo what the future hold for all of us. Im really dissapointed by the way they showed it on TV. it was as if teh death of SADDAM would really make this world a better place !!!!! ahhhh ignore politics its about old men talking and young men dying. take care ;)

Saddam Hussein was a mean, evil man and got what he deserved. He was evil just like Adolph Hitler was except that Hitler was a coward and took his own life. Alot of people don't believe that he should have died but like the saying goes "What goes around comes around."

I don't think anyone has the right to take a life whether they are politicians, judges or whoever. Only god has that right. I did not agree with Sadams policies and I think that his death will stir up a pandora's box. This is Christmas and the festive season....the season of forgetting and forgiving not the season for killings and hangings. Perhaps it would have been better to have made him live amongst the people he made suffer so that he would learn what they had to put up with....I don't mean that he should have been tortured...just to learn that different peoples have different points of view to what he had.

you have an of course twisted view on issues. Why do no longer you blame the President for El Ninon to. You credit the President with attaining the above stated activities, like he had an prompt hand in it. That makes me think of which you're particularly an fool. you ought to stay with baking cookies or some thing no longer politics.
