Saddam was executed for committing genocide against the Iraqi Kurds. Did you not hear some of the testimony in his trial given by survivors of his horrendous nerve gas attacks ? It was pretty heart wrenching to hear some of the stories these people told.
Saddam was a madman. He had every chance to straighten up and fly right. But he defied every UN resolution there was. Used the oil for food program to build palaces, instead of taking care of Iraq's poverished population. Saddam was nothing more than a modern day Adolph Hitler .

You can watch the video up to the point where he is hanged. They suddenly stop recording at that point. The video is clear and you can see him and the executioners in great detail.
They record again after the body is removed from the gallows. The video is poor quality and you cannot tell if it really is him or not. His face is covered with a cloth except for his nose and parts of his eyes.
Why did they stop the video before the actual execution when they had declared they would show it on TV?
Why is video so poor after he is removed from the gallows?
Why is so much of his face covered that you cannot see him well enough to identify him on TV?
What are the chances that is was really one of his look-alikes who was executed - one who was willing to sacrifice himself for his beliefs?
Someone as rich as Saddam would have easily made a deal with the government to "look the other way" as he left the country in exchange for all his wealth being left behind.

A silk scarf will not eliminate the fracture of the first vertebrae which is the cause of death. Normally a hood would be placed over the head and neck. The scarf just eliminates the breaking of skin that would cause massive bleeding from the blunt force trauma (less to clean up).

After he refused to allow the hood over his head then the executioners simply wrapped it around his neck before installing the rope.

ya, that was weird. especially for media in a country that thinks nothing of showing dead bodies. won't change the fact that saddam is gone. only media whores care different.

I think that he isa actually dead, if that's what u r trying to ask. they killed him because of all the people he murdered, mainly sunni (not directly, he ordered others to kill innocent people). His death was simply justice, but certainly not a smart political move.
