Its all based on the individual. Many times it could be loss of estrogen like when they are going through menopause, but may kick right back in afterwards and they get stimulated again.
There really isn't an exact age, but primarily due to hormonal changes.

This can happen at any age, and for various reasons. The relationship may get boring, medications may affect her sex-drive, hormonal changes etc etc. There are even people who claim to be asexual ie - have no interest in sex whatsoever. Everyone's different!!
