...argument. Who wrote it? I say the Righteous Brothers. I also recently heard it sung by a group in Italian. Beautiful!! Do any of you know who does the song in Italian?

There is a group called Il Divo, and they do sing "Unchained Melody" ("Senza Catene" in Italian). I've seen them perform on TV a couple of times. They're awesome! You can hear a clip of the song on Amazon.

William Stirrat (l), aka Hy Zaret, was 16 when he wrote lyrics. Alex North (r) wrote the music to “Unchained Melody.” Al Hibbler is believed to have been the first to sing the song.As far as the Italian singer you can do a search for them cause there are many who have done it,this way you can find the version you are looking for.
Hope this helps.
