If you buy something that needs to be put together do you read the instructions word for word--glance at the instructions just when stuck--or throw the intsructions away and put it together the way you want to?

It depends how complex the piece is.

A piece of furniture - read it all.
An electric gizmo with batteries - glance at if I'm in trouble
A nuclear reactor - throw 'em away & wing it!

I always read the instructions, I'm too impatient to have to go back and do it again if I screw up!

I read the instructions and follow them. I'm an expert at screwing things up and ruining them.

i WOULD throw the instructions away cause i know i COULD put it together without them,then realise i HAVEN'T a Scooby Doo(clue) how to put it together...
