Could be something is burned out, or shorted. Either a light, or an LED. Sometimes a circuit might have gone bad. How old is it and how often do you play? Have you dropped the system, or spilled something on it? Many things can go wrong with electronics equipment.
Your owners manual, which should have come with your system, should have trouble shooting in the back. If that doesn't help call the company. There should be a number for tech support, or customer service.

there is not any longer any further something incorrect which comprise your ds. placed in basic terms, that's a grid of sensors. i'm assuming your diverse ds is a fat ds? those did now no longer have it (thus far as I bear in strategies) and used a various way. If you are playing a GBA game it only uses one screen, otherwise it may be broken.

its broken.you must of broke it because i dropped my gameboy and the screen pixels broke and black ink came everywere
