i have a 99 monte carlo, ive found one from a 96. will it fit properly and work on my 99?

more than likely it will if it is the same looking mirror,GM uses the same mirror for years on the same vehicle. The only thing that could be differen't is if you got it off a 4 door car and yours is a 2 door.

best scenario that i can give you is to call the dealership and smooth talk the parts dude to cross-check that mirror problem for you -----also talk to a good "wrecking yard counter man"" those guys want to sell you the correct stuff so go for it --ask that source and you will get the right answer............
