i need ideas for a fancy dress costume for new years eve. there is no theme. ive left it until the last minute so need to make a costume without buying anything from a fancydress shop.
anyone got any ideas as what i could dress up as?

a pirate= headscarf or bit of material round head cutoff jeans/trousers/flowing skirt vest or torn shirt cut an old tshirt down the middle and tear off the sleeves to make a raggedy waistcoat add some beads bangles and boots/flipflops if you have a big belt add that and you will look just like cap'n jack sparrow or the female version if you are female.

Do you know anyone who may have a football kit of a famous team with a name on ,go as him ,its better than nothing.
The toga one above is good too,you just need to make a laurel leaf crown for your head then ,look in the garden for bendy twigs,pair of sandals and your all set.

Towel as a nappy to go as a large baby? (bit cold mind you this time of the year!!) Sheet and go as a roman use a xmas wreath as your laurel? Pyjama's and a dressing gown and go as Arthur Dent from Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy? Naked with your 'old fellar' in a box of biscuits.....tell them you are fu**ing crackers? Or in custard and you could be fu**ing dis-custard?

A super hero. Just wear your underwear over your clothes, borrow your girlfriends tights, make a cape out of some old sheets and make a mask out of some coloured paper.

how about a punk ripped jeans, shirt denim jacket and hair into a Mohican (or as close as u can get) and trainers

go as frankenstein, dye urself green with food dye/face paint/green eyeshadow, rip up some clothes a bit and wander around with a grumpy face...volia!
