This is a huge on-going question that nobody can really answer. But I want to know how it is that people are so different from your ownself. I mean we all breathe, reproduce, bleed, and die, don't we? (*Okay, maybe some of us have never had the ability to reproduce but you know what I mean.*)

Well, it sounds nice to say that "deep down we're all the same", but it's kind of not true. I mean, just because a person breathes, bleeds, and reproduces, does NOT mean I can necessarily get along with them. People come from different cultures which value different things. People speak different languages, which does effect how a person thinks. People believe in different religions. People have different life experiences... We are definitely NOT all the same. But that's not a bad thing!

In regards to racial prejudice, there are many factors. Often a lack of exposure may cause a person to cling on to stereotypes, because they don't actually know anyone of the race they are hating.

Sometimes negative experiences with a person or people from a specific race will lead someone to distrust them. A common example is a woman who is raped or beaten by a man of another race, and then she becomes fearful of all men of that race.

Even though the media can work to break down social barriers, it can also enforce stereotypes that lead to prejudice. I'm sure you can think of a plenty of movies where there are black/Asian/hispanic people who act really stereotypical!

Another is one's environment. If a person grows up in a family that stresses the "dangers" of associating with people from a certain race, then the children are more likely to develop prejudice against people of that race.

There is also a political factor. People don't like Muslims/Middle Easterners because they associate them with terrorism, Asians are sometimes looked at as untrustworthy because of WWII Japan and negative views of Communist China and North Korea, Latin American nations tend to be poor and people look at them as "illegals" and "job-stealers", African nations are also poor and often depicted in states of violence and civil war, etc.

I personally think it all boils down to ego. Everyone has a tendency to say, "I'm better than the other guy!" and it's easier to do that for someone who looks or acts different. This even happens with African-Americans who have different skin tones.

And you know what? The funny thing is, there's really no such thing as a "race." We all came from the same ancestor.
In fact, the "races" we have now are most likely NOT a pure race. Countless tribes have evolved from other people groups, and also "adopted" people of other races into their tribe... like with Native Americans- or better yet, the Hebrew nation.
If you have a good knowledge of the Bible, you will find some examples of foreigners being "adopted" in the Hebrew tribe. For instance, Ruth (a Moabite) and Rahab (a harlot from Jericho) are mentioned in Jesus' geneaology, so not even Jesus himself was 100% Jew.
And naturally, the founding father of the Jewish nation, Abraham, wasn't exactly Jewish. He was actually a Chaldean.

Also, there is a minority group in China called the Miao. Some of the people in that tribe have blue eyes and blonde hair because of their fairly recent Caucasian- yes, you heard me, CAUCASIAN- ancestry.

So ultimately, there's really no such thing as a 100%, purified, "race." The only real difference lies in the culture in which we were raised.

if you are white and drive into a predominate black neighborhood, you will be beat up robbed carjacked and offered crack, if you are a woman and break down without a cell phone, may god help you because you will need a miracle to make it out without being raped or even killed and your broken down car will be ramsacked and robbed, now reverse it, a black woman drives through a predominate white hicktown and breaks down will those things happen no, she will be escorted to safety, turn on the news, i saw a story a couple of weeks ago the mayors son(black )got pulled over for weaving in traffic with a broken tail light and the officer gave him an alcohol blood level test that indicated that he was drunk 3 times the legal limit also had pot, the mayor contacted the naacp and made it a case of racism and called it profiling, HE WAS DRUNK!! and had drugs and a broken light, turn on the news and look at who is commiting the crimes it isnt brain surgery, open your eyes, we were created from a different mold, they were taught that everyone is the enemy, sell drugs, pull the race card, make a million babies and sponge off the system, example look at africa...starving babies withaids, it was the same 20 years ago and will be the same 20 years from now, give them birthcontrol, WOW i am amazed that this is even a question,I have never oppressed a black person i have never hurt a single black person, i say yes sir an yes mam just to hear whatever you cracker, go to the getto and take a stroll and see what happens to you, since you think there is no hate....leave a note for your next of kin they will need it

Ignorance. I know of an asian guy who hates asians. Sad. Actually, I have read in a scientific journal that there is no such thing as "race," because we are all so closely genetically related.
There's psychological theories, such as the fear of others means that you have a deep fear of the "foreigner" that resides within yourself. Perhaps your parents didn't accept you as a child and forced you to hate your true self, and this gets projected onto the "foreigner" in others. A Jewish psychologist named Arno Gruen has written books about this very issue, as he wanted to understand what led people to commit the atrocities of the second world war. You might like to read them out of interest. http://www.directtextbook.com/editions/arno-gruen-insanity-of-normality

if they want to socialize with other races then that is their problem. you think finding an answer will find a solution? NO! what people need to do is stop forcing this guilt on mostly the white race for not wanting to socilize with a certain race. it's one thing to do damage to people who are not of your race but another to just want an all white neighborhood. I don't mind one or two asians/hispanics but blacks can stay in their own hoods!

As a song goes: "You got to be taught before it's too late, before you are 6 or 7 or 8 to hate all the people your relative hates. you've got to be carefully taught, you've got to be carefully taught."***Hate is taught and a learned behavior. Some people are emotionally disturbed. Some people are just messed up and have no humanity in-stints. It is sad!

sure. sure I do be conscious this lots. i admire AMTM yet on occasion she gets wayyyy into herself. not each and every thing should be approximately Tyra. i could be scared living in a house with photos of her everywhere. I mean she would not even sort anymore. She is a sprint over the ideal at cases yet i assume over all it somewhat is basically her character. even inspite of the shown fact that it continues to be sooo demanding at cases.

my thoughts were maybe people were insecure themselves and think it takes something from them,God made us all in His own image, can you imagine how ashamed God must be,I certainly would be I think one race considers another threatening to them,if they spend a little time with them if you will notice they begin to like them regardless of being raised bias
