I'm trying to install my router but the setup asks what my internet type is..which i haven't heard of these terms. I use cable internet.
OPtions are:
DHCP
PPPOE
Static IP
PPTP
L2TP
TELSTRA

if anyone can help

Ask your ISP they'll know. DHCP and PPPoE are the most common. Where DHCP is for cable and PPPoE is for DSL. So its a safe bet to say DHCP, but you should ask it may be different.

I don't know why you would need to go thru that setup, Bashful. Seems like I just hooked up the ethernet cables and plugged into the wall. Usually they are set to defaults or automatically detect most of those settings.

Do you have your documentation?? I think the answer is DHCP so that your router has whatever IP is assigned, and assigns secondary IPs to the computers using your network.

DHCP. You are on regular cable internet.
