It should be the other way around if anyone has a sense of history, and the mistakes that can happen through the ages.

Imagine how much more intelligent and worldly wise americans would be if they hadn't made the mistake of going on their own!

Well spotted! Based on the quality of the Americans' grammar and spelling on sites such as this (and you can tell they're American by their choice of words!!!) - perhaps they should stick the Union Jack on the United States name.

Actually, all the other flags are before the country they represent at the bottom of the page. So they put an american flag in front of en espanol. if you look, italy doesn't have a flag either - the one after italy is for japan. i think its a issue with blank space being over the first flags in the second and third line.

Actually they have left out a flag for the UK. The flag appears on the left of the country and there is nothing on the left of UK. The two American flags are beside United States and 'en Español ' for americans who want the page in Spanish.

Actually no mistake has been made.
The flag goes to the left of the name of the country. Now if you don't see a flag is because the text size of your browser is either too small or too large. Change the text size and you will see that the correct flag is at the left of United KIngdom.

It doesn't

What is happening is that the UK flag isn't showing up on some browsers.

The flags for the countries are to the LEFT not RIGHT of the name, and the UK one is missing in most versions of IE, as is the Italian flag

Yes, I wanted to ask this question.
At the bottom of this page you can choose your language by clicking on the flag of your country. It is not so for UK : The Union Jack flag is MISSING altogether! And worse! when you click on the United States American flag you most of the time find yourself in all the questions asked by British UK people about Liverpool and cricket! So I have to click back to United States again and again....I do not have this problem when I click on the French flag to ask my questions in French. Please, somebody put the British flag back, please ?

There is NO flag next to the UK. All flags are in front of the written name of the country. There are two for the US indicating its use of both English and Spanish.

if you look at the bottom of the page, the countries flag goes to the left of it so technically the UK doesnt acutally have a flag icon...

I had noticed that there was no flag for the UK. Not sure why they left us out as it is mostly UK people that use the site.

Italy doesn't have one either!
