I was on the judging panel for one of the annual Slugfest Cook-offs sponsored by "The Paper" in Monte Rio, California years ago. Yes, people really did make all sorts of entrees using banana slugs. The slugs tasted kind of like liver, but they stuck to my fillings.

Cow's tongue when I was little. My grandad was a chef and he used to give it to me every Sunday. He said it was 'Cows Talker' a special type of corned beef. As soon as I found out what it was I stopped taking it from him but I remember it tasting lovely.
