I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my divorce was the right thing to do. It was my second marriage and was a rebound relationship for me. The red flags presented themselves early on but I chose not to acknowledge them. I married him, moved to a different state(his idea) in hopes of starting a new life with him and to give my children from my first marriage opportunities and a different life. Wrong, wrong, wrong. As soon as he had isolated me from my family and familiar environment he became verbally abusive, mentally manipulative, and controlling. Thank God I looked at the bigger picture and knew I would not live like that for the rest of my life. I made the decision to leave him, drive 3500 miles to my home town and start over.......again. It was the very best decision I have made thus far in my life. I am happy, my kids are happy. Life is good.

I did get a divorce and I was more than happy about the decision I made.It took me a long time to find out that a person dosen't change unless they want to.It took me 25 years to figure that out but I got what is called SICK and Tired of being Sick and Tired..I almost lost my mind and spirit oh yea and don't let me forget my life.I advise other women that if a realationship is going sour because of abuse/verbal and or physical GET OUT don't wait..Thank God I chose not to have Kids.

Well the week OF, I was a nervous wreck, cold sweats, couldnt sleep.......the whole gamut of emotion. The day he was served, as I lay in bed that evening, I felt surrounded by an incredible feeling of warmth, and thoughts of an ability to handle anything that came down the pike!
I considered this incredible foreign feeling/thoughts as simply that I'd made a decision and it happened to be the RIGHT decision, after 19 years of emotional turmoil.

I caught him screwing one of my "friends" on our dining room floor. We were married 17 years and the last 5 weren't very good anyway so no big loss. It was a actually a relief that I caught him because it kinda gave me the excuse to finally file for divorce as I had been contemplating divorce anyway.

When you are in a relationship that is on its lasts legs you are feeling lots of emotions and most are not good for you to feel all the time, when the decision is made and papers filed and you are on your way to freedom from the bad emotions then yeh you can have quite a weight lifted and you feel better.

yes i am happy with my decision, had no intention of staying with a cheating low down dog, whose selfish ways and insensitivity, and controlling ways, made my life a living hell for over 10 years.
