I don't know if every Arthur Murray has a junior program. I would echo what the last respondent said, go to an independent studio with a good junior program rather than a franchise. The franchise will make your parents sign a contract, where independent studios are pay as you go and require no pre-paid commitment.
I also recommend ballroomdancers.com or better yet the directory at the National Dance Council of America website to find a studio or teacher. Be sure to try more than one studio if you can. Not all programs or teachers are alike, find someone you are comfortable with and has some ballroom credentials to show they know what they are doing.

I don't think there is an age restriction. It might be different story that other school that specializes in teaching children is better for children. Children learn differntly than adults. They are mostly visual learners (they need to be shown how to move) while adults are analytical learners (they need to be told, not only shown how to move their body). Also, children have shorter attention span, they easily get bored, while aduls already have the discipline and focus.
Privale lessons will work well in any studio, as long as you find a good teacher.
In my area, privately owned studios are much better than chains like Arthur Murray. If you need more studios near you try and look in here: http://www.ballroomdancers.com
Happy New Year.

I accept as true with Lee in this. in case you could take classification at Washington Ballet open training, it would desire to be the perfect education around. you're able to additionally do as he pronounced and ask in the event that they comprehend of colleges nearer to you. have self assurance me they are going to be effective. in comparison to small studios they are not in this for the money. maximum ballet academies will help handbook you someplace else in the event that they are not the suitable determination for you. @-Q-trojan horse If I bear in mind properly, Chesapeake is a techniques south close to Norfolk or perhaps south of Richmond. If Centreville is barely 20 miles from D.C. which would be very a techniques away certainly.

I'm not totally sure, but last year when I was looking for a place to take ballroom dancing I think you had to be, like, 14 or 15 to take a class, at least at the one near me it might be a little different at other ones, but since it's a franchise I dont think it is. You can go to http://amredlands.com/locator.php and find the one nearest you and email them and ask them.
