Waste of good rope and someone's soul. They should let him rot in prison for the rest of his life in humiliation. Instead, we've given the religious nuts another martyr.

Personally, I am a huge proponent of capital punishment. Saddam did some truly attrocious things and he deserved the punishment he got. I don't think that allowing him to sit in a cell for the rest of his miserable life would have been good enough to make up for all of the people he tortutred a killed. Personally, I am glad that he was executed and that he will never hurt another human being again.

Happy New Year!

the best punishment would have been letting him sit in a small cell for the rest of his life listening to loud playing american pop music.

i didn't enjoy the glee the media felt over covering the execution. i don't care if it were saddam or tim mcveigh -- i don't take joy in any execution, death, killing whether popular opinion thinks its deserving or not. i still think life in prison in a small cell is better punishment.

I think it is unfortunate that his life led to the destruction and downfall of not only his country but his family.
He is gone.........and the followers of saddam need to re-evaluate their lives.

I have to admit the date of execution was pretty quick. As opposed to the trial which was fairly long.

I'm sure the pundits feel its all the U.S. doing, but we all know how long it takes to execute a person the U.S. court systems.

I believe it was the Iraqis doing this time.

you know, I understand what hedid to his own people was terrible, but killing him will not make a damn difference. He still has followers, who are now angrier. This world and civilization should be above killing out of spite and anger. It's disgusting
