My little brother plays that game and cannot figure it out. He can't get to the center of the ice so he can go down the stairs. I even tried and couldn't do it. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I used to know that game like the back of my hand... one of my favorite presents. Anyways, realistically speaking, i do remember something. There's a certain pattern you need to follow while on the ice, or something like that. It isn't that difficult once you have the pattern figured out... hope what i still know helps!
