at some highschools in order for you graduate you have to pass drivers ed. i don't think that's fair because drivers ed. should be a choice not an requirement. even if it is a requiremen, if you don't pass you just want be able to drive but i don't think that should determine if you graduate highschool, that's not even a subject. what do you think?

I don't think you should have to pass the driver's ed test to graduate. It is their choice whether or not they are ready to learn how to drive or even if their parents want them to. However, I do think it should be the other way around. I think kids should have to graduate before they can get their license. I see too many kids start driving at 16 and then they don't finish school or they go in late or leave early. I also believe that would be a good incentive for kids to graduate.

No, it should only be used for lowering your insurance and helping you get your license. Many schools are cutting down on driver's ed because of the costs associated with the class.

Is it reasonable to expect a kid to be able to count and speak intelligible English before you let her graduate High School? So she can cope in the "real world"? Then why would it not be reasonable to expect her to be able to drive?

I think maybe MORE requirements should be added, not less. How about not letting kids with a normal metabolism graduate until they achieve a normal Body Mass Index?

i believe it should remain an elective not a requirement in my days it was an after school class then again if you didnt want to take the class you could take the driver's ed challenge test and if you passed you got a slip of paper take it to DMV and take the other half of written test to get your learner's permit
