he never tells me anything - and when i do ask him questions he gets an attitude and walks away into his office- (and this being my first pregnancy im not sure what all to ask.) Are there certian things he should be checking for or doing at the 41 week appt. that i should look for?

why have you put up with an obnoxious doctor for your whole pregnancy? He should be seeing if you're dilated and effacing, and at 41 weeks, he should be making sure the baby isn't getting stressed, or low on amniotic fluid, or getting too big to deliver. It's never to late to seek a second opinion, and you should also have the option of requesting that a doctor on the hospital staff deliver your baby when the time comes, if you don't trust him.

OMG honey, I'm really sorry you are going through this.. My best friend had a Dr. like that.. She was lucky and went into labor when her Dr. wasn't on call and this really NICE woman delivered her baby that took over the regular Dr. patients that night. My Best Friend has delivered every time with this Woman Dr. now.
You must be miserable. Start trying to walk for awhile like in a mall or something. Drink Raspberry Leaf Tea, Do some squats. Anything to try to speed you up a bit.. Just DON'T use castor oil!!
Good luck honey and Congrats

You CAN change doctors if you are military, at least U.S. Military. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. You can also request a CIVILIAN doctor off base. It does cost a little more but it beats the other options. If someone has told you that you can't then they were basically wrong. When you had your intial "check up" you should have gotten an "orientation" as to what to expect during your pregnancy as well as information on what could arrise so that you could be prepared to ask the questions when needed.

It's a shame you stayed with him through your pregnancy. At 41 weeks he should check for dilatation and effacement, see what position the baby is in (head down, posterior, preferably), and discuss the possibility of induction considering you are overdue. It is not safe for you or your baby to go past 42 weeks. My practice induces at 41 weeks because the amniotic fluid dries up and the placenta no longer can provide the nutrients a baby of this age needs. I hope you go into labor soon and then find a new doctor.

If the soreness is unquestionably undesirable on your back, then you definately are in back exertions.. and with your contractions being approximately 5 min aside, i could pass to L&D the force there and the strolling from the vehicle parking zone could make your contractions greater consistant.. once you upward push up there, in the event that they wont admit you, throw a greater healthful, call for you're no longer leaving which you're 40-one weeks pregnant... greater beneficial than in all possibility they'll shop you besides.. good success!

You should be looking for a new doctor. That treatment is horrible, uncalled for, and unethical. I'd report him not only to the hospital but to the association that he is a part of.
He should be checking the heart rate each time, he should be checking you for signs of preclampsia, usually done by collecting urine, he should be checking your cervix at every visit as well.
You should NOT be putting up with this doctor. I seriously think you should ask him how he is justifying treating you like this. His job and his OATH is to provide health care with answers to questions and complete care. You pay him for that, or atleast your insurance does.

Trust me I know all about horrible doctors!! With my son I went into early labour and they called my doc at home and he came to the hospital and balled out the nurses for taking him away frin his football game. And to bet it all his name is Dr,Pigg. Great name for a jerk like him:) At 41 weeks though you should be going into labour anytime and by your next appt he will probubly put you in the hospital and give you a drug called pitocin that will start your labour for you. Good Luck and God Bless

I would say it is too late to switch being that he's being seeing you for so long and accordin 2 his stank attitude, he wouldn wonna transfer your records to anyone else. Either report him to the officials or just take a chance at switching. Never know how he might react once u start delivering
