I cant figure it out, do I need to give another account Xbox Live? Help me out please.

you cannot play ranked matches but you can play player matches but your guest needs to sign in on your gamer tag name

First sign in your main name. Then you have to sign the other player as GUEST. After you are signed in have your partner hit Y and then choose Guest
Also NO you dont need to get another account. Just dont plan on getting into ranked matches. As far as co-op, you can just play without Xbox Live and have a friend play with you. For that you have to create another profile on your Xbox which is pretty simple. Try both of the above and let me know if you still need more help.

Let me know if the whole guest thing works. I haven't been able to get a co op split screen multiplayer to work myself and I would be quite interested to know if it works or not.
