Well yes that would be a perfect car for a young girl like that. And very good on gas too, which is always good for an on the go teenager. I should know as i am one.
All 3 of the Scion models would be good for her. Because there all good looking and affordable. But in my opinion i think that she might be more attracted to the Scion TC which is the 2 door coupe model of these 3. I have seen tons and tons of younger girls driving these. They come fully loaded with Dual panel sunroof, CD player, auto/manual trans. all power features, Key-less entry and alarm. and there is plenty more on these Lil cars.
All these cars come with 4 cylinder engines which have a good gas mileage rating, and for a teenager they are not a high performance car. So it should be a little bit cheaper on insurance too
I would just suggest letting her look at all 3 models and choosing which one she likes the best. Because if your going to buy it used. You can find any one of the models at a low decent price.

Yes, a Scion would fit you well. I think the xA model is nice, but my favorite is the xB model. The xB is really good for teenagers and is a great car to start with. My brother owns a Scion Xb, but I always smoke him with my Mitsubishi Evo VIII.

We love ours. It gets good gas mileage, has a HUGE interior for the size, good stock radio, and you get points for being a little different. Not to mention it's a LOADED car for very very CHEAP!
