Republicans, What are they Good For?

Smaller Government? President Bush's second-term agenda would expand not only the size of the federal government but also its influence over the lives of millions of Americans.

Fiscal Responsibility? Faced with a potential government shutdown, the Senate votes to raise the nation's debt limit for the fourth time in five years.

Manage the Military? Iraq is the "greatest strategic disaster in United States history," a retired Army general said yesterday.

Tough on Crime? Violent crime rose in cities and towns across the country in the first half of 2006, according to preliminary data from the FBI.

Maybe someone else has a better idea than me.
Maybe you can find a way to blame everything on Clinton...that's usually good for a chuckle.

Republicans: what are they good for? I've been asking myself that question for a long time. Maybe it's raising debt, or sending the nation children over seas and seeing how they handle it. What ever thing they are "good at" sure isn't helping a hell of a lot. They have was to blame everything on some one else. "Stay the Course". What course? Oh...you mean the one thats getting us nowhere and creating chaos and crisis every direction we turn? Ohh...that course. I know that one all too familiar. GOD BLESS/SUPPORT THE TROOPS

I grant you the Republican Party -- and Republicans -- are not perfect or even close. However, politics is "the art of the possible," and Republicans are a damned sight better than the Democrats for this country. It would clearly NOT be better to: increase entitlement and social spending, nationalize health care, increase taxes, and thereby put a major drag on the economy, reduce the military, allow Israel to be destroyed, and on and on. The small recent increase in crime is a small bump in an otherwise positive long-term trend, for which we can thank primarily GOP leaders like Giuliani.

So, what are Republicans good for? They are good for making sure the Democrats don't do enormous damage to this nation.

Well these problems usually start with the previous regime........so yes, we can blame a lot of it on Clinton....When the next President is in ( Not Hillary ) he will be commended on the great things comming about....this will have begun on Bush's watch. It all takes time to show a profit.....
