yes all razrs are quad band phones (the gsm ones anyhow) what you will truely need however is an unlocked gsm razr so that when you get to another country you can rent a sim card from the other company to use as most companies will not allow you to use your service there. depending on where you are going you may be able to get away with using your razr overseas if it is a cingular or t-mobile phone however as they have service both places .. otherwise go to the moto website or ebay and buy yourself an unlocked gsm razr

Depending on your carrier. Verizon wireless uses CDMA technology and will only work in certain areas internationally where there is CDMA technology. You can purchase international phones with CDMA and GSM that will work in most parts of the world where there is cell phone service. You would want to check with your carrier to be sure you are covered.

The V3 Silver and the V3i are quad band and totally usable everywhere. In general, most RAZR's are usable everywhere. To get the "plus" sign to come out, you normally press and hold the "0" (zero) button for several seconds, and it will change from a "0" to a "+" (plus)

I think the phone is already capable of doing that, your carrier may not have the facilities to connect to all parts of the world.
