Hatred. !! We human beings are cruel. Nasty minds and unforgiveness. No no no. The Killing of Saddam is a sign of more violence in Iraq and more death of U.S troops. It's not going to change anything believe you me. But let God be the judge not us. Learn to forgive one another and not bear grudges against each other.

Isn't weird (to say the least) that the hanging was done without the express presence of any American politician or member of the military stationed in the Iraq??? after all weren't the Americans politicians and military so eager to capture Saddam (as well as Bin Laden)? shouldn't they be part of the audience when Saddam (presumably) lied hanged (they could cheer and applaud at Saddam every last breath... lol)? I would assume this would be treated as a matter of national security... that would be shown on across the country (U.S) and they would execute him at a more convenient time of the day (prime time as TV networks call it)... and my kids could see devil Saddam dying for good!!! What a show that would be! It would break all the audience ratings records...

So there you have it... he's dead and it doesn't seem that much of a threat now or ever (did he ever?)... you can rest assure he won't be a threat anymore (although your fight against "terrorism" has not ended with his dead). Its time to ask yourselves about WHO the real terrorists are... are they near or far from your well secured and balanced neighborhoods? Could they be looking at you right now and watching your every move? I wished the "Saddam matter" was all that there is to the story, but unfortunately it isn't. You'll see.

I feel very two-sided about the execution of Saddam. One one hand, he was a bad person and caused a lot of pain and death in Iraq. On the other hand I am strongly opposed to the death sentence, even if it is for one of the most brutal dictators in history. I am not saying that he didn't deserve a severe punishment. Sure he committed many crimes that needed to be avenged, but not through another crime.

I did not see it, neither want to see it.
It is barbaric. A middle age scene, at the dawn of the XXI century.

Calm down, you guys who think Saddam Hussein should have been tortured. You are just as barbaric as he was.
May god forgive you, if he exists...

Saddam Hussein should have be condemned to jail, and should have been tried for the chemical attacks on 170,000 Kurds with American chemical weapons, not only for reprisal against the 150-ish who attempted to kill him.

His trial was even more ridiculous than Stalin era trials were. A shame (one more) for America. But the truth is that American leaders just didn't want this trial to take place (a trial where they may have been asked to give their testimony).

Watch this photo: S. Hussein and D. Rumsfeld shaking hands. They used to be good friends, you know!

Also to say, to be fair, that the 10 years Americain blocus killed far more Iraqi civilians than Saddam Hussein ever did.

And please, don't show here how naive you are by answering "Another conspiration theory!". American support for Saddam Hussein to use chemical weapons during Iran-Iraq war is not a theory, but well documented facts everyone has heard of!

How do I feel about it?
- Sad there was no justice done (only 1 unfair trial)
- Sad for his Kurdish victims and other who couldn't have their say at a trial.
- Sad for History: he died with his secrets about American and Western involvment in his crimes.
- Sad for Humanity: still so primitive and barbaric!

I never feel good about horrible events like this. I think if anyone deserved it then he did, but I still can't say it is right to kill someone, especially in cold blood. However, he is the one who wrote the very rules of execution in Iraq and he was happy to execute hundreds of people. It is all sickening stuff and i'm glad there aren't many people in the world with that degree of hatred and evil in them.

properly pondering Bin weighted down remains at great and Bush seems to have completely forgotten he exchange into ever after him, and that the united kingdom and US invaded Iraq and not applying a competent reason, and that i do no longer subscribe with the 'eye for a watch' thought with out pondering what proportion harmless lives Bush and Blair have led to their conflict, the full thought of people taking yet another human's existence is someway morally uncomfortable in 2006

I am saddened that anyone is so vile and evil that they must reach this end. In perspective, however, is is one of the more kinder ways muslims put people to death. Example: Buried in neck deep sand and stoned with sufficiently small stones that it takes a long while to die.
Let's face it, the world, as well as the Iraqui court knew of his past acts. I doubt any more mercy was shown the kurds that were slaughtered.

This is a timely question as I've just watched the footage on the BBC. I felt indifferent before, but having seen them putting the noose around his neck I couldn't help feel sorry for him and to admire his poise and dignity. (they didn't show the actual hanging). I must add that he was, undoubtedly, a very evil man; but as to whether he deserved to die in such a manner, I'm no longer sure.

Sadaam Hussein was a tyrant and an evil excuse for a human being, but he should not have been hung.He should have been given hard labour with only bread and water for the rest of his life,Hanging was too quick and easy.
