I live in the state Pennsylvania and filed for SSI suppliment which pays a maximum of $603.00 a month. I also filed for service connected disability. Can I collect both at the same time? Please answer only if you know the correct answer. Your response would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible. You would have to be found disabled at BOTH the VA and Social Security Administration. If you were found disabled at both places, SSI would then look at your resources (things you own) and income. If you were found to be disabled at the SSA, SSI will only send you a payment if you were below their income and resource guidelines. If your check from the VA was low enough you could qualify for some SSI payment, but if your check from the VA was over SSI's allowable income level, you would not be able to get SSI.

My husband is on 100% disability from the VA and we were told to file for SS disability also. He was turned down from them and we are in the process with a lawyer now. So it is possible our lawyer told us. Good Luck
