I used to squeeze from the middle but found a lot of the toothpaste was still all lumpy in the tube. I bought a toothpaste tube clip which I attach to the bottom of the tube. I just squeeze and roll the tube slightly forward each time I use it. The tube lasts longer and all the toothpaste is used up. Nothing is wasted.

Well, I start in the middle, when it's first opened but then I revert to the top after a bit. I only ever use the bottom at the very end of the tube, then I squish it to the top.

usually from the middle until i get to where i don't have much left and then i squeeze the bottom
