If Mr. Smith's peacock laid an egg anywhere, Mr. Smith would probably become a very wealthy man. At least he would make Ripley's Believe It or Not! or The Guinness Book of World Records.
A peacock is male. You need a peahen for any egg laying! (And she doesn't need the peacock for assistance or inspiration. Just ask any battery chicken!)

Since the peacock is Mr. Smith then the egg belongs to Mr. Smith regardless where the peacock laid the egg.

It depends, if the egg is left in the yard of Mr. Jones then its Mr. Jones' But if the egg was with the peacock, then Mr. Smith owns it.
