Someone told me that the restaurant, Cracker Barrel can be a bit racist when you go there. I stay in NC. Can anyone give me any advice about this place before I go, because I don't want my family and I to walk in a place and feel uncomfortable.

I have never heard this! I love the cracker barrel and have been going there since a little girl with my grandma, now my fiance and I go. Take your family and enjoy the downright good southern cooking! I suggest the pot roast with fried okra and mac and cheese with sweet tea!

Cracker Barrel racist? If they are it would have to be just a certain store not the whole chain. But the food is great and the atmosphere is really old time. I have had nothing but great experiences there.

I have never observed any problems with racism at the many Cracker Barrels I have visited. As you can see from the other responses, people either really like the food or really hate it. If you are a fan of Southern food (also known by some as soul food) you will like it. If not, you probably find it too greasy.

My husband got food poisoning after eating at one so I have never been there.
If I heard that a particular restaurant was racist, I wouldn't take the chance of taking my familiy there. Maybe you should check it out first, but you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself and make your family feel uncomfortable.

I personally think the food is terrible, but the few times I have eaten there, it didn't seem racist to me, lots of different folks eating there.

I don't know about them being racist or not, but I don't like it. The breakfast is good, but everything else tastes like it comes out of a can.

If you eat meat, and generally the main crowd does eat meat, you will be happy there because they like to serve meat, and they like to put it in almost everything, For example other than the tiniest salad for a child they even like to put meat in their salads! For the average customer that is a surprise and a delight. If you are a vegetarian don't even go in. They can please people who eat meat and that is what they do.
