I liked the job that President Ford did 30+ years ago. His death does warrant media coverage for his obituaries.
However, the crimes, the trial, the verdict, and the execution of Saddam Hussein is news NOW. That part of the world is in such upheaval it is important to know what is going on their now so we can plan ahead for what we may be up against in the future.
Even as a supporter of President Ford, I understand the importance of what has happened in Iraq.

Welll... I didnot want to do this but u provoked me. No offense to Mr Ford ( may he rest in peace), he was a filler for tricky dick and from what I recall he was not really a great president ( more like a temporary president) Regarding Saddam, he was a dictator, a mass murderer, and the face of devil who deserved every bit of this execution. So yea, the media woulds pay for attention to him.

u know the news the good will always take the back seat to the bad! look at the way the war has been covered. all we hear about is the bad things that happen in the war. but never the good things our troops are doing over there. sad to say it but u have to watch a station like the military channel to see what really going on because these are done by the men and women who are there

News is news. Ford is still in the news. It doesn't take anything away from his to report other news.

running a news cast is no different than any other business; lead with what attracts and hope your customers stay for the rest.
