Which "cheat code" are you looking for?
To access the cheat code window, hit CTRL + SHIFT + C.

The money cheat, which is probably the one you want, is "motherlode".

shift + control + c
then enter your cheat code. My favorites are : motherlode (it gives you 50 000 simoleons) and aging on/off to stop your sims from aging.
