I have answered another persons question about dreams of flying and I did so because when I was a pre-teen I repeatedly dreamed of flying and it was so exhilarating I used to try willing myself to "lift off: when I was awake. I don't believe dreams symbolize anything or that they are real "out of body experiences". They are just the brain "dream imagining" sort of a night time "daydream" to turn the analogy around. The brain does it to entertain you at night and maintain life because sleep is closer to death than being awake and must be monitored by the unconscious mind to avoid slipping too deeply into unconsciousness such as a coma.

The reason I don't believe they symbolize anything like being happy is because they quit when you grow up and although I had a very happy childhood I don't dream of flying when I'm happy now. I'm now happy most of the time and still dream. I dreamed of my daughter as a baby, who is 50 now, last night and it was a happy dream. Entertaining too!
