yeah like it wont read the disc i put in

Put in WinXP disc and go to Start -Run. Type SFC and this will re-install drivers needed.

That is the cd drive and if you burn alot of cds then the cd drive's sensor probably is burned out and cant read the disks anymore. I would go to a store and buy another one.
The hard drive is the thing that holds every thing on the computer which has nothing to do with reading disks and is probably just fine all you need to do is buy a cd drive and replace which is very easy.

That means that you have put in the wrong type of hard drive. If it is not the problem then the hard drive may be damaged or cracked in the indide and needs to be replaced.
