I have a system and over 400 songs, so far the individual parties we've done (family) have had a great time. What else should we do? any thoughts?

I have close to 500 songs, we have the karaoke machine and speakers etc. Is there any other thoughts that would be helpfull to get this in gear.

You must build up your song collection. Even the smaller karaoke companies average over 5,000 song titles in their collection. This would be the minimum for a fair selection of songs in the various genres.

I would treat it something like a DJ side business. You might also connect with caterers or party supply companies to let them know you & your equipment can be rented out.

Check with the city clerk to see if any licensing is required.
