Nope! And whats a labtop? I thought that was a countertop in a laboratory!

Yes you can, but I doubt it's worth the effort.

To do it you need a second computer to act as the wireless access point, router and modem.

(This is because the market is so small that no-one, to my knowledge, makes a dedicated piece of hardware that would do this)

A computer running Windows XP with a wireless card can be set up to do this but, honestly, dial-up is so slow that I'd recommend it only if broadband simply isn't available in your area.

PS OK I take that back - it looks like that wifyler thing (mentioned above) will do what you want. But I stil maintain that you really really don't want to unless it's your only option.

that depends on what you mean by wireless Internet. If you are talking about the broadband Internet that say Verizon offers than yes. if you are talking about using wireless (802.11x) devices in your home that is independent of your ISP. most companies that provide DSL service will provide users with a dial-up back-up account while most ISP that provide cable modem service do not.

Yes you can have both either wireless or dial up,you can use your cellphone service provider as your wireless isp.

DSL is like five dollars more, cough it up, you won't regret the expense.
