I have found that being consistent with a healthy diet has a snowball effect. when you are eating right you have more energy, when you have more energy you are more likely to go workout. constant results are only seen when you are consistently working out and eating right...

Changed, I understand how you feel because I've been there. I'd like to give you two pieces of advice: first of all, if you're capable of being self-motivated but you just need a plan, then run (do not walk, it uses less calories) to the bookstore and pick up "Body for Life" in the fitness section. The book has exactly what you need -- it revved up my workouts and remotivated me in no time. Secondly, if you're not easily self-motivated then I would suggest you invest in some sessions with a personal trainer at your gym. There is no "best" routine -- everyone is different, and you should really consider the benefits of spending a few bucks to have a professional evaluate your physical condition, design a routine for you that works, and help track your progress. I lost 40 pounds with the help of a personal trainer! Good luck.

There are so many routines, theories, and get-fit-quick gimmicks out there that it' can get really confusing. Your plan will depend largely on your goals- sport-specific? Body-Builder? Runner? You can find all sorts of structured workout plans on Bodybuilder.com for just about any goal. The ultimate key will be your own self-discipline, not only when it comes to exercise, but your diet as well. Muscle Milk in a good suppliment if you're looking to gain some mass. Hope that helps.
