er, no, dont give a 7 month old baby kool aid or anything other than what it would normally drink. If it has a cold this wont make a bit of difference! This might be useful in a child of 3years upwards with diarrhoea and vomiting but would NOT be relevant for a cold.and may cause problems.

Keep temp down. fluid levels good and ride it out. Most ear infections are viral, and they will NOT benefit from antibiotics which don't work on anything viral. If the baby is chesty, see your dr asap, as bronchiolitis may become the problem. But at this time of year,(in the UK) virus infection is a common problem; vapours such as Karvol, Baby Olbas all help relieve congestion and keep offering your baby drinks such as very dilute (1:4) juice. Offer both warm and very cool. Your baby will let you know soon enough which it really wants!!!
Dairy may add to congestion problems so give feeds as usual if baby wants them but try offering fruit puree such as apricot or apple instead. Go straight to A+E if you notice any floppiness or strange rash, or rise in temperature.
If temp fails to drop after paracetamol you can give ibuprofen 3+ months. Your pharmacist should ask you how old the baby is. He should also give you details on administrating the drug.
As long as there is no history of note, you should be fine giving this to your baby and can give a combined dose of this and paracetamol together. But read the instructions first!

I can't believe you're taking the time sitting on the internet asking this question when really a phonecall to NHS Direct, your local doctors out of hours service, or even the pharmacist at your local chemist!

Check your baby's temperature first! 37 degrees celcius is normal if it is 38 then keep the baby cool. If it's 39 then phone the doctor or an ambulance.

If the tempreture is fine then keep the baby warm, the room ventilated, if the baby is bunged up then use baby vicks balsam or Olbas Oil on a tissue and give the baby lots of fluid - water. Give only what food the baby will take. Water is important though.

You really should phone the doctor and then on Tuesday morning ohone your team of midwives to arrange a meeting for you to discuss these issues with them so they can advise you in the future.

I'm shocked to be honest.

My 4 month old had started a cold. Then it turned into an ear infection. If you're seeking advice the best you could do is see your pediatrician. She may tell you to treat the cold. Colds can cause a baby to get an ear infection. Then it just makes things 10 times worse.

WEbmd.com is great for resources. Does the baby have a fever? I find that Motrin helps bring them down fast. My dd has kidney problems so When she gets sick I have to act fast so I give her tylenol and then 2 hrs later give her motrin, after a 24 hr period of doing this back and forth she feels alot better, Make sure to keep the baby hydrated and a humidifier is a great thing to have in their rooms. Also, baths with J&J bedtime wash or the vapor bath helps a great deal

fill the bath up with hot water, shut the door whilst its running, and let the steam do the work, after, take the baby in, it will clear the baby for a while at least! and lots of cuddles, and some calpol, make sure he/she drinks a decent amount, even if they have gone off food! good luck, im sure he/she doesnt feel half as bad as you (its such a worry, i know)!

make sure that the baby is kept cool and in a well ventilated room. Administer calpol if not allergic to any of the ingredients. Consult dr and keep an eye on the temperature.

If it is just a runny nose and slight cough then just run the humidifier and give him extra hugs and kisses. I use triametic infant strips for cough and congestion in my infant.

If it is a croup (barking sound) cough or you hear wheezing or a crackle in his voice take him to the doctor. Croup is serious (my son is on steroids, he came down with it the night before last). but RSV is deadly.

There isn't much you can do, Calpol will make your baby feel more comfortable also you can get drops to put on babies pillow to help easier breathing.
