They distort it because they have no rational response for it. If they address what Democrats are actually saying, what they actually believe... there's little effect. They're wrong, Democrats are right...on the great majority of issues. So, how to get around that? Well, don't respond to what Democrats actually stand for. Make something up...something really ludicrous, something really foolish... and then respond to that.

That's the only way that they can win the debate; when they create both positions, their own and a strawman position for the Democrats.

And all they have to sacrifice for that is their credibility and their integrity. And that's why there will be a Democrat in the White house in a few years.

I believe you mean ''As a Liberal United Statesian"

You see, there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.

It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.

I am a Conservative American and I do believe you when you say you want what's best for the US and the world, however, where we part is I just believe your idealogy is wrong. I don't fear you, I have no hatred for you, and if you think it's lack of intelligence on my part, you need to look yourself in the mirror.

Liberalism is pro welfare state, pro social programs, pro unions, pro high taxes, and pro affirmative action. As a conservative I believe liberalism stifles individual achievement and innovation.
Liberalism says government has the answer and will make things better. It rarely does, and most often its goals of trying to create an equal playing field only makes everyone equally mediocre. Conservatism believes the individual makes his own destiny and doesn't want the government controlling his life.

Lastly, liberals claim to be the champions of free speach, but go to any college campus and try to voice your opinion as a conservative and watch how long it takes to be shouted down!

Because the "best" you choose to embrace is in fact Communism, and will ultimately end the United States of America AND the world unless exposed for the totally unworkable political ideology it in fact is. It is YOUR Fear, hatred, and lack of intelligence that fuels this myth. Your Socialist Utopia is a total work of fiction, based on what "feels good" and "seems right"

Because the neocons want what is best for Israel so your wishes are in a tug of war with a group entrenched in the US administration at this time and are squeezing some balls to get what they want.

It is all those that you have listed. What is so pathetic is that they've learnt nothing from Nov7th.

Heard a funny thing this week, My father-in-law, a staunch Republican in Florida, voted Democrat. His view is that he doesn't want to be ever mixed up with these callous, heartless and Rabid Christian Conservatives who preach one thing and do another. His view is that they are finished as a political force for a generation o come. I agree.

Truthfully, I've seen a lot of your postings and they're laced with sarcasm and outright distortions. How about the one preceding this one claiming that Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam are chess partners? You don't want to be answered with sarcasm and distortions, stop posting questions laced with sarcasm and distortions.

Maybe what you think is right, is in fact wrong. Stop being so pig headed and instead of name calling like a third grader, actually point out a problem and then submit your solution for discussion.
