The Sims 2 University, Nightlife and Holiday Stuff packs all have the same installation error. The setup gets almost to the end then it asks for The Sims 2 CD4. I don't HAVE 4 Sims CDs, I have 1 original DVD which it won't accept. I have tried EVERYTHING: a manual installation, switching off all anti-virus/spyware/firewall programs in case of interference; downloading the latest patch for Sims DVD - as recommended by EA when I phoned them: (the patch won't install because it ALSO asks for the Sims 2 CD4 even though it's the patch for Sims 2 DVD version); searching for relevant info at the Sims 2 website and the Maxis website - nothing; asking on here! So I'm asking again. Has anyone else encountered the same phenomenon? Anyone have any ideas? I'm pulling my hair out!

I have the original PC-DVD version of the game. I bought the expansions from Amazon and they are also genuine.

For GOD's SAKE! Would someone please LISTEN to me! I have a proper off the shelf bonafide GENUINE copy of the Sims 2 on DVD. Not the CD version - the DVD version! And yes it does exist - look on the EA website!
And everything, including the expansion sets are absolutely 100% genuine CDs! Please people!!!!!
