Okay, I didn't see the entire movie, so I plead ignorance. But in one part of the movie, Sybil is dreaming or thinking....maybe remembering something about carrying a box full of kittens...but then she keeps hearing this other kitty cat screeching/hissing at her...and she sees the other mean cat in flashes or something. Dude, wtf, yo? I mean, what was going on?

TT is very correct in her accessment of 'Sybil'. The movie opened up conversations between people who were now NOT afraid to talk about what had happened to them in childhood. The movie was very controversial because of this. Childhood abuse was no longer a 'taboo subject' but a reasonable one. People started talking and the world started listening. These things would no longer be swept under the rug but pushed to the forefront and delt with. For those reasons and others, this made-for-tv film won an Emmy for Lead Actress for Sally Field, as well as a Golden Globe for Best Movie Made For Television. A movie was filmed (with Jessica Lange) for release in 2006 (the 30th anneversary of the original) but has yet to come out. It's made-for-tv as well.

Yes i saw the movie Sybil. Very deep movie, shows how the abuse of kids can traumatize them in to their adult years so much that it affects their future relationships. This movie speaks to so many people abused as kids and it also shows there is hope for them to deal with the past and be able to move forward with their futures no matter how hard that might be.

Haha no, I never saw it, but I love the movie Superstar and she's always talking about movies, and she mentions Sybil and starts saying how she has a multiple personality disorder, and she does a little skit from it...she goes "Look at ya, my pretty little girl with her face all painted up and her little halter top" lol
