Of-course, I don't know all the details, but it sounds like you're going to be ok. You are the victim of a fraud. The law must prove that you knowingly and intentionally tried to defraud money. Occasionally lew enforcement will attempt to use intimidation if they believe you are lying. Chances are, they don't have the evidence to put you in jail. If they did, you'd probably already be there. There are a few options: talk to the detectives handling the case and explain the situation, or hire an attorney to do it for you. You could also just wait and see. Like I said, it sounds like they don't have an offense. Especially if you didn't succeed in getting any money.

Suicide would likely be a bit of an over-reaction.

Make no statements to the police - ever.
They will turn them around on you in court.

Get a lawyer.
Only a lawyer can give you the advice you are seeking.

He/She will be able to tell you, after reviewing the evidence against you, if they have a case that will likely end in conviction or if you have a good chance to win a not guilty verdict.

If this was your first offense you stand a good chance to get off light. Unless your offense falls under some mandatory sentencing guidelines.

Get a lawyer

Get a Lawyer

GET A LAWYER!!

For future reference, do not try things that you either (should) know to be illegal or seem to good to be true.

Now she disappears into the Internet void and you are stuck holding the bag.

Unless she was a cop or working for the police, in which case it is on to the next sucker who will believe the BS.

Good Luck

So, is your next question going to be to ask someone on here for money to hire an attorney?
Why would someone just send you money?
Sounds to me like you were trying to scam her, and got caught. GOOD, one less scammer on yahoo.
Why dont you go out and get a real job and quit trying to steal from honest people.

So, either this happened in a VERY SHORT TIME, or your are really having issues looking for another online dating service in the middle of being scammed.

I think you know more than you care to say here or at least suspected something was amiss or you wouldn't have inquired about checks. Get an attorney.
