And not up watching CNN like the rest of the world. You don't think he was getting calls every minute the whole day? And if not, why not?

If Pres. Bush was sleeping at that time, then O.J. really IS innocent. Or Michael Jackson really DIDN'T touch those young boys. Or there really IS a tooth fairy.

PARIS (AFP) - There was mixed global reaction to the execution of Saddam Hussein, with Washington hailing a "milestone" for Iraq, European leaders criticising use of the death penalty and the Arab world split between anger and approval.

US President George W. Bush, who was asleep at his Texas ranch when the hanging was carried out in Baghdad, said the former Iraqi dictator had received the kind of justice he denied his victims.

Hey, jenab6, if someone tried to assassinate your father, you would get gratification from his death, too. So, quit trying to make Bush out to be someone who just lives to see people executed. Saddam was more than deserving of what he got and it's a shame that it wasn't done 25 years ago!!

George Bush has been known to ridicule condemned prisoners before they are executed. He gets some sort of juvenile thrill from it. He mocked Carla Faye Tucker's last-minute pleas for mercy, and there's no reason to expect he would not also get a perverse gratification from watching other people get killed as well.

It was probably midnight or later in Texas . I wouldn't expect him to loose sleep over it . He knows that grapevine . Apparently the drive-by media was announcing the execution was going to happen at any minute...all day long .

Sure he was asleep. That's when he goes to bed, so they tell us. He has staff who answer calls. The President has other things to do than be on the phone. He was up the other night when Jerry Ford died. The staffers got him up.
