I personally would not. You don't have to run up and down a field or court all day...just memorize things and work on timing.

Yes. They have tryouts and practices like most sports and requires teamwork. Gymnastics is considered a sport and that's one of the things cheerleading consists of. To be a cheerleader you need to have good stamena and athletic abilities. Don't forget, they also compete at state/national championships!

Of course! Does it take strength and athletic ability? Yes. Does it take teamwork and coordination? Yes. Can it be highly competitive? yes. As far as im concerned cheerleading is way more of a sport than poker or nascar. Plus, cheerleaders are hot.

Actually, it's difficult to say whether it is or not. Cheerleading involves physical exertion, discipline, and stamina and there are competitions for it. Although I feel a sport is something done with scoring, a ball or puck, and a few other things, I can't find any reason to say that Cheerleading doesn't qualify as a sport.

Yes, I consider it to be a sport. An activity does not need to have balls to be a sport. Ok, that came out wrong, but you know what I mean! As long as there is competition, it can be a sport.

It is certainly very athletic, but I don't quite see how it could qualify as a sport.

Although, perhaps it is a "performance" style of sport, like gymnastics.
