Talk to a doctor about it. There is nothing you can do to lighten them up except take hormone treatment (the pill).

my doctor recommended taking ibeprofen a day or two before you are supposed to start . take as directed all day. and your blood will thin out and your period will be lighter. other then that your only option is to get on the pill. But ive been down that road and i had to get off them because they messed by hormones up too bad.

I don't think so. I've heard that when women are on the pill their periods are lighter then ones who aren't but I don't know if that's true or not

I dont think there are many ways of making your period lighter. Maybe try eating lighter foods, that might help a little. Also, if you take more showers when your on your period, you won't bleed as much. That's all the help of as I would be to you. Also, if u don't worry about it as much, it doesn't seem as such a big to-do! good luck!

You don't want to do anything to change your period. However, I found that when I used tampons instead of pads, my period appeared to be lighter. Not sure why but it does.
