ahhhh.... I just love this question. Because I asked it a long time ago, and sometimes, that question keeps creeping back in my thoughts, begging me to solidify an answer. I tired this, that, the other thing, and his cousin's profession, when all I really wanted was to win the lottery and travel the world. Hahaha.
But then it came to me. The answer is everywhere. Abraham Lincoln said: "I suppose a man is just about as happy as he makes up his mind to be." Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young say "love the one you're with." The Eastern religions say "a rolling stone gathers no moss." So, I still do what I'm doing (and it's a lowly job, mind you), but I'm happy for it, and I love going there every day. I enjoy being me. I enjoy this moment. So it's not about finding what you LOVE to do. It's about loving what you do.

Deep down I know my purpose but would rather ignore it. I suppose I knew when I was 4 or 5 yrs old watching my Cherokee Grand Mother praying to the Great Spirit. I think that I have many purposes. The greatest one of all is being a mother, seeing the world through a child's eyes. The world is a beautiful thing to behold through their eyes. Another purpose, helping others this is the one I am running from currently. Thanks for your question. It made me realize once I assume my purpose I will be happy.

Keep trying and experiencing new things--that is the only way you will know what truly makes you happy, then go for it! i love the saying, "Life is not about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself." Be proactive, stop waiting for the answer to come to you--join clubs, do some volunteer work, try a new occupation, visit new places, talk to other people who are happy and confident in what they do.....I used to be the shyest girl in school, a goody two shoes recluse....and extremely unahppy i might add--now at age 29, I have a wonderful career as a leasing specialist, and I LOVE working with people on a daily basis! I am always the one dragging others out of the house to clubs/concerts, and other events/places. It wasn't until I "came out of my shell" in my early 20's and open to new experiences that I realized I am happiest being WITH people than without. I have done volunteer work and was also was a preschool teacher for a few years--I am happiest when i am of service to others. I can't imagine going back to the way I was, so depressed and withdrawn....I just regret the years I lost being so stubborn and close-minded, dismissing all sorts of things without trying them!

The answer lies within you.
For me it was becoming a Licensed and Ordained Minister of the Gospel.
But then I'm one that respects others beliefs even though I may not agree with them.
I try, and fail, to be an example of what I talk about.

You will know it when it comes.Things will go smoothly, you'll be happy, you'll excel and prosper in that thing. I am a people person but was raised as a recluse so it took some time but I really enjoy working with people.

I knew instantly that I wanted to be a famous Canadian artist, after I went to Canada and painted lots of pictures.
